rough draft/Nadars backstory
Posted 5 years agoSo i am really nervous and embarrassed about what i wrote but thought i should post something. so here it goes.
rough draft of Nadar stormdragon.
Nadar was a blue dragonborn born to a small clan of dragonborn living in the realm of Abeir. they did not believe in family units, more that the whole tribe taught and took care of each child. when he reached his teens he developed some magic abilities, minor but warrented leaving the clan and living with a mentor in secret to learn to control his powers or he would die. As with his bluedragon blood heritage he was born a storm sorcerer so minor control over the elements.
In the world of Abeir magic is not pulled from the air but the soul/spirit. dragon rule with an iron fist and the dragonborn are not much more then slaves. so in order to gain more power he had to learn to dominate lesser creatures and elementals to add to his power. During this time he was approaching his 20's and having to learn this affected him, having issues meeting and getting alone with others. really only having one night flings until they get to know him. He became a very confident sorcerer able to hide his abilities and live somewhat a normal life after he was done as a student.
while he was in his mid thirties the time of troubles as it was called happened in Toril. which pulled the 2 realms together throwing many dragonborn from there realm into an unknown world. Nadar was one of these few. He wandered the land using the already dominated creatures he had trapped on him always to power himself. He soon ended up in the city of waterdeep. that is where he learned magic functions very different from his realm. using the money he could gather from doing simple tasks since he was an outsider he used it to get access to the wizard school. showing them his natrual abilities. he was one of the older students but he learned fast and met many friends also learning with him. His specific school of magic was Transmutation as well as being a highly gifted storm sorcerer. First was Tali the love of his life who specialized in conjuration . they got married the same year they exited the school. second was Eboni Thema who specialized in enchantment as well as just being a gifted shadow sorcerer. just enhancing her already alluring abilities. She is a black and white dragonborn, obsessed with gold and attention. Third was Alyn, she specialized in Chronomancy the control over time and space. The three women constantly fought over his attention, while getting along with the other. they eventually made a deal so they could still be friends but love him at the same time. Trying to study was hard with them teasing him all the time. but they did it and graduated with flying colors.
After leaving the school and getting married to Tali. The 4 traveled the world. seeking adventure for knowledge and wealth. delving ancient ruins and fighting all types of monsters. after many years they found a underground wizard tower that was OLD, but it sat on the spot where the most powerful lay-lines converged. Deciding to set that as their home they built it up. using Nadars ability to dominate lesser creatures they used them to defend the location. with Tali and Eboni working with the outside world gathering magic items and books expanding the knowledge. while Alyn used her power over time to slow their ageing, keeping them in the best form. Together they created a massive library and became research. by this time all 4 where past 100 years old, but only looking like young adults in their prime. and have had many life or death experiances.with Alyn's time slowing they decided to take it a step further and become immortal. many wizards and sorceres had done it in the past but non share the secrets.
As nadar neared his 160's and had an amazing life with the 3 women he finally did it. He found a way to live forever. creating bodies for all of them to always be in there prime age, perfect and immortal. using his power over creation magic. Over the years they had added many layers to the underground tower. with the gathered knowledge Tali used her ability to conjure and go to other dimensions to create dimensional pocks, each one linked to a item and powerful entity to protect the backup bodies just in-case anyone died.
with their new younger bodies and infinite time to expand their horizens they did not just explore Toril but the other realms. the fey wild, the hells, and the upper realms some call heaven. Gaining power year by year. Nadar felt it was unfair to be limited to the small forms they were given. so for 200 years he researched and created a perfect ritual. it would bring out the full power of a persons body and soul. the more powerful the person the bigger the change. He went from 6 ft about 250lb to over 16ft tall and 1500lbs. he gained all the strenght and power of a full dragon but retained all his knowledge and personality. trying the ritual again transformed him into a full fledged dragon, but that has its own issues so he prefers the 2 smaller forms now after doing the ritual he can with a thought change to either of the other forms. Eboni had a similar transformantion but did not care for it so mostly stays in her normal form. Tali continued experimenting with it. trying to figure out how to give a person the attributes or monsters/creatures not of the same species/race. In the end she gave herself Dullahan and Tail-mouth as well as enhancing her already amazing assests. Alyn has not yet used the ritual as she is happy with her current form
The 4 now and then have adventurers invade the tower but usually are delt with fast and easily. still going on adventures to other worlds. exploring the astral sea and gathering knowledge and dominating beasts that they find along the way to increase the already infinite power they wield.
